Turkish Shipping Summit 2007

Join leading representatives from the Turkish shipping community to discuss all aspects of the changing face of Turkish maritime industries as they try to predict what the future holds for the Eastern Mediterranean.

Shipping companies have renewed their fleets both with modern second hand tonnage and with newbuildings, improving the fleet profile dramatically.

The younger, often foreign-educated, members of the traditional Turkish shipping families have brought into Turkish shipping attitudes reflecting the international nature of the industry, the use of more complex financing structures and the dynamism to expand and compete outside the country’s borders.

Shipbuilding has burgeoned, with Turkish-built ships now sailing in the fleets of many well-known European shipping companies, and the reputation of the yards spreading.

At the Turkish Shipping Summit leading industry representatives from home and abroad will look these aspects of the changing face of the Turkish maritime industries and try to predict what the future may hold.
