Christopher South is a Deputy Director of West of England Insurance Services(Luxembourg) SA with responsibility for Specialist Claims and Business Development.
He studied law in London and qualified as a solicitor in 1980 and worked in private practice until April 1982 when he joined the West of England. In the 1980s he was responsible for the Association’s Latin American membership. From 1991 to 1994 he was the manger of the Association’s office in Hong Kong. On returning to London he was appointed manager of a claims syndicate responsible for the Associations members in parts of Europe (including Germany) and of the Middle East. He has specialised in handling major casualties and providing advice to the liner and cruise industries. He represents the Association on the International Group Claims Co-Operation and Representation Sub-Committees and sits on the European Cruise Council Consumer Affairs Sub-Committee. Since 2009 he has been responsible for handling specialist claims including major casualties and working on business development.
