Giuseppe Bottiglieri, born in 1948, represents the fifth generation of an old shipowning Family from Torre del Greco which dates back its origins to 1850. When 22, he entered the company assisting his father Giovanni Battista Bottiglieri in managing the family business. In 1976 he moved his shipping activities from Naples to Athens, where he has been based for 18 years thus gathering a very profitable international experience.
Today, thanks to his 40 years of experience, he is one of the most prominent personality in the Italian maritime cluster. In 1995 he was elected Board Member of Confitarma, the Italian Shipowners’ Association and since 2001 he has been the Chairman of the Oceanic Navigation Committee and member of the Executive Committee. He is, also, Vice Chairman (since 2005) of Intercargo, Director (since 2003) of the UK P&I Club, Board Member (since 2002) of Intertanko, Member of Bimco Documentary Committee and Member (since 2002) of the Italian Committee of ABS, American Bureau of Shipping.
He has been married since 1977 to Ghetty Cozzolino. They have three daughters: Mariella, Managing Director and Chartering Manager; Alessandra, Managing Director working in the post-fixture department; Manuela, student of Law at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome.
