Paul French is the Chief China Representative of Access Asia, a Shanghai and Beijing based markets and economics consultancy covering China and North East Asia. Access Asia works regularly with a number of major investment banks and multi-national corporations on understanding China's economy. He is a regular columnist for the China Economic Quarterly, the China Economic Review and the FT's China Confidential. He is the author of a number of books and will be publishing "Oil on Water: Globalisation, Energy, the Oceans and Pirates" in 2010. He is based in Shanghai.
