Marine Risk Forum 2010
The TradeWinds Marine Risk Forum is now established as the melting pot for ideas and interaction between shipowners, risk managers, underwriters, brokers and club managers. Opinions are freely exchanged and common ground sought on solutions.
The 4th Forum in the series takes place at a time of unprecedented challenges and changes for shipowners and their insurers. Spanning two days, the Forum tackles the hot topics for both H&M and P&I and will look in detail at the issues and controversy surrounding valuations, the explosion in FD&D claims, bring new thinking on Loss of Hire and whether the insurance industry is doing enough for shipowners in the current climate.
Delegates at the Forum will benefit from a full business programme, and also from the high level networking opportunities, including the Forum Gala Dinner, kindly hosted by The American Club in the ballroom of the Vier Jahreszeiten.
On the agenda:
- Overview – state of the market
- H&M – a broker’s perspective
- View from the bridge – an owners perspective. What issues are concerning shipowners in the current climate and is the insurance industry doing enough?
- New thinking on loss of hire
- When will the storm pass? Market outlook for shipowners.
- How is the problem of valuations impacting the insurance market?
- Valuations – an owner’s perspective
- Overview – what are the current issues concerning clubs?
- The long view - is more vibrancy and diversity coming to the P&I market?
- Challenges for risk managers... a view from the Elbe
- Are the P&I Clubs delivering?
- How is FD&D bearing up under the current claims explosion?
- P&I - a broker’s perspective
- Dealing with piracy today – are insurers doing enough?
- The claims picture – what’s happening and why. Developments with the International Group pool and claims in general.
- Fixed premium - current market and outlook
- The last word: a panel of leading shipowners, underwriters and brokers discuss the issues of the day, and answer the question: ‘when will the storm pass?’
